Getting your test results
If your test results show that you need more tests or treatment, we will contact you.
Most test results come back within 2 working days, but some that need further testing can take up to 7 days. You may be asked to book a telephone appointment with the doctor to discuss your result.
Once a doctor has reviewed your results, you can see them:
- in your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
- in SystmOnline
- by phoning us on 01747 840226, preferably after 10:30am
Who we can give results to
To protect patient confidentiality, we only give results to the patient, or to their parent or guardian. If you would like us to discuss your results with someone else, you will need to fill in a consent form.
Questions about your results
If you would like to talk to someone about your results, please call us to book an appointment with a GP.
Urine samples
If you think you have a urinary tract infection (UTI)
Fill in our questionnaire for patients with a suspected UTI and bring it to the surgery with your urine sample before 11am.
This gives the practice nurse or GP time to test the sample and, if needed, package it for the laboratory at Salisbury District Hospital. The hospital courier usually collects samples at midday.
Other urine samples
There is a different form if you have been asked to bring in a midstream urine (MSU) sample for another reason, for example an annual review ACR test, which is usually an early morning sample.
