You can usually collect your prescription 3 working days after you order it. If your repeat prescription needs to be reviewed by a GP, this can add another day.
When your medicine will be ready
Repeat medicine can be collected after 10:30am, Monday to Friday.
- Ordered on Monday morning: ready on Thursday from 10:30am
- Ordered on Tuesday morning: ready on Friday from 10:30am
- Ordered on Wednesday morning: ready on Monday from 10:30am
- Ordered on Thursday morning: ready on Tuesday from 10:30am
- Ordered on Friday morning: ready on Wednesday from 10:30am
Paying for your medicine
If you do not get free prescriptions, you can pay by cash or cheque when you collect your medicine. We cannot take card payments at the dispensary. You can also pay by BACS transfer: please ask reception for details.
Phoning the dispensary
Only one person works in the dispensary at a time, doing a variety of tasks: dispensing, ordering, accepting orders and dealing with requests from the GPs and nurses during clinics.
If the dispenser is dispensing to a patient, they cannot answer the phone. Being interrupted while dispensing increases the risk of an error.
We are committed to working safely and professionally, and we are always looking for ways of working that prevent errors. We understand that it can be frustrating when the dispensary phone is not answered.
